Kanye West Quote

15 08 2009

I’m always working, just talking to people like I’ve already got some lines that might make it to the album just from having a conversation,” Ye said in an interview. “I haven’t written down lyrics in like six years, but as far as rapping goes though, uh, how do we word this? [Michael]┬áJordan,Michael Jackson of it, that’s what I do. It’s time for me to bust another rap album… I kill that rap sh*t, that’s what I do. I’m working on stuff, lyrics right now and they’re awes-mazing, they’re basically untouchable and I’m about to take it to a whole ‘nother level and I would be scared if I was not me.

Lupe Fiasco “L.A.S.E.R.S. Manifesto”

I Cannot deny Lupe’s genius but he used to be an indie rapper so sometimes he acts like he is still indie. Like when he said he was going to quit the music industry because he hates the business aspect. Yes art should be pure and separated from business but art is also beautiful and beauty cost.

American public always wants to forgive. I mean look at Kobe, he has gotten even bigger endorsement deals than he had before being accused of rape. So maybe Chris Brown’s career ain’t over.

WTF moment

24 02 2009

The other day I was talking to someone younger than me about Lil’ Wayne. I let them know that Lil’ Wayne making a rock album was the stupidest idea ever. They responded with saying “but Kanye did a album where he only sung for the whole time, so way can’t Lil’ Wayne do the same?”

WTF that doesn’t even make sense to compare the two situations/albums. Lil’ Wayne doing rock would be comparable to Kanye West doing an all reaggeaton album.
